At First Step Driving, we believe learning to drive is more than just passing a test — it's about gaining the skills, confidence, and mindset for a lifetime of safe, responsible driving. Your first step to safe, confident driving starts here. 

By booking lessons with First Step Driving, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Lesson Bookings & Payments

• Lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to instructor availability.

• Payment for each lesson must be made at least 24 hours in advance unless otherwise agreed.

• Block bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full lesson rate.

• Refunds for block bookings will be calculated based on the lessons taken and may incur an admin fee.

3. Punctuality

• Please be ready at the agreed time and place. If you are late, your lesson time may be reduced accordingly.

• The instructor will wait for up to 10 minutes. After that, the lesson will be marked as a no-show and charged.

4. Safety & Conduct

• The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson if the student is unfit to drive (e.g., under the influence of alcohol or drugs) or behaves inappropriately.

• Students must follow all instructions and drive safely at all times during lessons.

5. Driving Test Bookings

• Please consult your instructor before booking a practical test to ensure you're test-ready.

• Use of the instructor’s car for the test is subject to their approval and availability.

6. Insurance

• All lessons are covered under the instructor’s professional motor insurance while under instruction.

7. Area of Service

• First Step Driving currently operates within Swansea only.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. 

To make sure your test goes smoothly, please follow these important rules:

1.  Arrive on Time

• Please be ready at least 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up.

• Delays may result in missing your test slot.

2. Bring the Required Documents

Ensure you have the following with you:

• Provisional Driving Licence

• Theory Test Pass Certificate (if applicable)

• DVSA Booking Confirmation (email or text) 

3. Use of Instructor’s Vehicle

• The instructor’s car may only be used if they confirm you are test-ready and safe to proceed. 

4. Instructor's Right to Refuse

• For safety and professional standards, your instructor reserves the right to withhold use of the vehicle if they believe you are not adequately prepared. 

5. Stay Calm and Focused

• If pre-arranged, a short warm-up session may be included before your test to help you settle and focus.
